We previously announced that we are attending pii2012 and taking part in their technology showcase. We are proud to be one of this years presenters and there are many other interesting companies and organizations who will be prestenting along side us on Tuesday.

The Privacy Identity Innovation conference (pii) is coming up this year in Seattle, and Hibe will be among this year’s exhibitors. The pii conference started in 2010 exploring the cross-section between privacy, identity and how they encourage innovation in the tech community. We met the folks from pii at their booth at SXSW were immediately impressed by the event and we are proud to be one of the exhibitors this year.

Privacy and identity have always been key concerns here at Hibe, and we are looking forward to sharing our vision with the other participants and attendees.

We hope to develop these new relationships into future partners and supporters, moving into the rest of 2012 with a larger and more diverse community behind us than ever. We also received a lot of feedback on the Hibe platform, both affirming that we were going in the right direction and also opening up new avenues of exploration.

We made a video of our experiences at SXSW, one of the most impressive events of the year; and hopefully not the last. What started out as a rainy, cold event turned a corner and we got to see the beautiful city of Austin and all it had to offer. The festival itself was pure excitement and passion for interactive technologies, music and film. While we wanted to film the first day of the trade show, the Hibe booth was literally so crowded that we didn’t have time to catch our breath, much less set up the camera. However we were able to film on the second and following days at our booth. Here’s the video:

As we have previously announced, we will be exhibiting in Austin, Texas at the 2012 South by Southwest conference. Well, the time has finally arrived and we will be getting on the plane for Texas tomorrow morning. As we arrive in Texas, we will be posting regular updates on Twitter chronicling our experiences at SXSW and updates from the road.

While for now the website is still only in English, having Spanish as an available language for Hibe is on our list of priorities- to be released 2012.

The winner of this war will have to secure both fronts in order to lock users in to their ecosystem.

One area we are focussing on is making our site more compatible on smartphones and tablet devices. That being said, we have been developing the mobile version of Hibe.com and have put together a little demonstration of what it will look like.

The mobile site is just the first step on the road to having a dedicated mobile application. Because our efforts on mobile platforms is ongoing, we have created a secondary Twitter account for Mobile development and support. From now on, you can follow @HibeApp to keep up on announcements and updates on development in this area. We’re all looking forward to being able to use Hibe on our mobile devices, and we hope you are too.
