Social Networking after Facebook

Last week, I presented my interpretation of a Real Life Social Network. Through the eyes of Debbie, I highlighted the discrepancies between her online and offline social lives.

By implementing the Social Web 3.0 concept, we are opening the way for a new social networking experience that goes beyond Facebook.

Today, we peek at this experience by lifting the veil on Hibe as an implementation of a Real Life Social Network.

Through Hibe’s newest interfaces, we see how Debbie can use Hibe to:

  • Portray online multiple facets of her identity;
  • Give context and meaning to her online conversations;
  • Opt out from unwanted conversations;
  • Control her online audiences and what she shares with them;
  • Connect with others using conditions that she defines.

Although these are only a subset of Hibe’s list of functionalities, they describe how Debbie can now share online as she does in real life.

This is the first time that these interfaces are exposed to the public and these features will be available on the next release of the platform. Your comments and questions are always welcome.
